Mastering lean-agile@Procurement
Successful procurement of complex products & services

The current performance excellence study of the University of St. Gallen confirms what we have all secretly assumed already: Classical procurement approaches fail with increased complexity, time pressure & constant changes. Lean-Agile Procurement offers the first  applicable toolset based on agile principles.

Goal of the workshop

After the successful participation in the workshop, you understand the lean procurement canvas and are prepared to use lean-agile procurement in your environment for your competitive advantage.

The setup of the workshop is agile and interactive as well, so that the focus can be determined and set by the participants.

Certification

Participants who successfully complete the workshop and pass the test are Certified Lean-agile Procurement Level 2 and receive a two-year membership in the Lean-agile Procurement Community.

Target group

The workshop introduces you to agile procurement and you learn how to apply the tools and rituals.

It is intended for an interdisciplinary audience of buyers, decision-makers, partner managers and project managers from business- and procurement organizations from both customer and supplier sides.

Lean-agile procurement reduces and distributes risk through incremental and value-added funding for improved business outcomes.
— Pete Behrens, Board Member of Scrum Alliance

In this Workshop we answer the following questions

Agility YES, but WHY? - The participants will discuss current developments in the market, your organizations and partner ecosystems. You will learn why and how other functions such as ICT, business development, hardware development, HR, marketing, etc. are using agile and why success examples, regardless of the industry and company size like Tesla, Google, ING-DIBA, Spotify, Saab Airospace, and more no longer want to work differently.

What does this have to do with procurement? - The participants reflect the advantages and disadvantages of previous procurement approaches and gain an overview of the results of the Performance Excellence Report of the University of St. Gallen for the procurement of complex products and services.  So that you've all the arguments to convince your management for an agile transformation.

What is agile@procurement and when shouldn’t you use it? - The participants learn the lean Procurement Canvas in a playful manner and go through the 4 steps of lean-agile procurement (1st initialization, 2nd preparation, 3rd implementation, 4th decision)

What agile cooperation models exist and what should be observed? - The participants receive an overview of agile cooperation models and agile contracting including their advantages and disadvantages from the perspective of the customer and the supplier

What is agile partner management? - Participants will gain insights into further applications of the lean Procurement Canvas. The preparation of an agile governance for strategic procurement, the implementation of an assessment of an existing partnership, or the target definition for the development of a partnership, etc

The tender as a large group event, can I do that? - Participants receive an introduction to large group moderation techniques, the organization of the big room evaluation day and play through to the joint decision.
